How To Make Cheese (with video) – Farmer’s Cheese in 30 Minutes

March 20th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Everyone loves cheese, I’m a cheese fiend (I can grab a container of cream cheese, some saltines, and a butter knife, and go to town on that sucker til it’s empty), how could anyone

not love cheese, right? And, understandably, as a cheese lover you now want to MAKE your own cheese–this is not as difficult as it sounds. In the video below (don’t worry, I’ve included all the ingredients and amounts right below it) you’re going to be shown how to

make some simple farmer’s cheese (which I’ve had before and think is delicious, second only to cream cheese and some Bries in my opinion), and I think you’re going to be amazed at how simple this all is–a 7th grader could quite literally do this on their own in under an hour, no problem, and all the ingredients are very inexpensive.

The ingredients and amounts are as follows:

1 quart fresh, local whole milk
1 cup active-culture buttermilk
2 tsp lemon juice or white vinegar, more if needed
3/4 tsp salt, or to taste
