Here I’ve got a video clip from the Discovery Channel’s show ‘How It’s Made’ showing exactly how a professional bowyer constructs a recurve bow (if you want to make your own, you should try a long bow first, see below): |
If you’re interested in making your own bow, I highly recommend you start with a long bow as it’s much simpler to make than a recurve bow–check out this simple tutorial: How To Build A Long Bow

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO MAKE MY OWN RE-CURVE BOW. ALTHOUGH THERE ARE, MORE WEB SITES SELLING PLANS AND OF COURSE, THE PRODUCTS TO BUILD SUCH A BOW. I HAVE DISCOVERED IT IS CHEAPER TO BUY ONE ALREADY MADE. HOWEVER, THAT OPINION CHANGED WHILE SURFING FOR ANY FREE BITS OF INFORMATION, WHICH COULD BE LOCATED.
I JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT A NOTE OF GRATITUDE IS LONG OVERDUE.
THANK YOU,
TOM
